SBA Releases Targeted and Supplemental EIDL Advance Data
It's been a busy week for the small business assistance programs and SBA EIDL programs. Here's a quick recap, including what you might have missed.
We announced an EIDL Advance and loan recipient lookup tool, some states said they would cut unemployment benefits, the US Treasury announced billions in new rental assistance funds, and we also covered a new small business funding program through GoFundMe.
In SBA news, we covered exclusive information on SBA EIDL identity theft and fraud. Plus, we reported that Supplemental EIDL Advances started being distributed.
Finally, today, the SBA released their first report on Supplemental EIDL Advance data. Over 11,000 Supplemental Advances have been approved to date — which is the $5,000 additional grant that is for businesses with 10 or fewer employees, in low-income communities, with a 50% or more revenue decline over an 8 week period between 2019 and 2020. The raw approvals number this week are somewhat lower than expected — only showing an increase of around $5,000 approvals in the past week.
SBA Releases Supplemental EIDL Advance Approvals Data
For the first time, the SBA has released Supplemental Approval data, which shows a promising start. According to our YouTube survey, 6% of viewers in in the "all three club" — approved for original Advance, Targeted Advance (top up to $10,000), and Supplemental Advance (additional $5,000).
