Take Action to Decrease Police Violence in Your City
As the US and the world fight for justice for Black Americans, we're committed to taking action. It's important for us at Skip to support organizations and individuals fighting for racial justice and against systemic racism. Although it is difficult to track the exact number of Black Americans who die at the hands of the police, we know it is more than twice the rate of white Americans and that there have been hundreds of Black people killed by police in the last year, many of whom, like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, were important pillars of their communities. The leading cause of death for young Black men in the US is police shootings. Inspired by #8cantwait and as part of our Skip for Good initiative, you can email your Mayor right now to demand policing policy changes. The #8cantwait campaign by Campaign Zero is a series of policy changes that can be put in place across the board to reduce police violence by nearly 75%.
Take Action, Email Your Mayor Now
Click your city. It will bring up a pre-filled email to send to your Mayor or elected official - just change your name and city. Don't see your city? Let us know and we will add it! You can also search your city on the 8cantwait website to see how many of the policy changes your police force has put in place (if any).
