covid-19 May 09, 2020

At Skip, we're dedicated to helping you navigate financial resources, stimulus checks, small business loans, and unemployment insurance. Our sole mission is to help you make sense of the latest COVID-19 information, government assistance programs, and more. Here is a quick guide on some of our latest resources we've had since the beginning of the pandemic.

One of the things we're most proud of is our free resources to help small businesses and individuals, and we are donating 100% of our YouTube revenue to give out grants from $100-$500 grants to our users.

Track EIDL Loan Progress

The SBA's Economic Injury and Disaster Loan (EIDL) program was created to help small businesses in emergencies like this. It has received millions of applications during this crisis, and policies and procedures have been changing almost daily. Our team keeps you updated on latest policies and what to expect from the SBA, as best we can, based on research and self-reported information.

Here is the Skip loan tracker where you can monitor progress and get information.

Understand unemployment progress in your state

Close to 1 out of every 4 workers in the US are now unemployed. This is the largest percentage of unemployed since the Great Depression. Each state manages their unemployment insurance program, and many new policies are being made to support independent contractors (PUA) and add supplemental benefits ($600 extra). Our team is continuing to add resources and a self-reported tracker. Below, you can see an example of the unemployment self-reporting tracker for the state of California

Get the latest federal stimulus information

As part of the CARES Act, the federal government has been distributing up to $1,200 checks to most Americans. The distribution will be ongoing for several more weeks, with discussion of a second round of stimulus checks underway in Congress. Our team is monitoring the discussions in Congress and sharing self-reported stimulus information.
